How our business was established
HBI International has engaged Abellio Productions LTD an established, automated cone manufacturing facility situated in Ireland. Our analysis of filling machines and the Medicinal Cannabis Industry, pointed us to a niche market where customers require Repeatable, Dimensionally Consistent, Best-in-Class cones, manufactured in a cleanroom environment to give confidence in the product they dispense and enhance the performance of their filling machines. This directed us to research automatic machines to make cones in 2017, with a very simple goal; to produce High Quality Cones in a highly developed industrialized environment.
Production was set up in Ireland for many reasons; to leverage expertise from the country’s long established Pharmaceutical Hub and well-educated work force, and to also take advantage of Ireland's climate which offers suitability for processing paper efficiently due to its relative humidity to name two. The facility was built to be compatible with FDA GMP with a goal to be Best-in-Class.

Delivering Excellence in Cone Manufacturing
Our cones are manufactured on state-of-the art, fully automated robotic cone machines—a world-first. This allows us to achieve repeatable, dimensionally consistent cones. Through the use of AI powered detection system and process controls, any cones that deviate from our quality standard are rejected at source long before they can be packed into the boxes that are dispatched to our customers.
Backrolled cones put the paper overlap on the outside of the cone. This innovative step leads the market and ensures our customers receive easy to fill cones. It is shown that machine manufactured cones run more efficiently than hand rolled cones through automatic filling machines. One supplier of automatic filling machines has confirmed that they experience an 8% error rate on hand rolled cones through their machines compared to a 1% on our machine-made cones. This difference has a huge impact on waste, OEE and efficient running of your filling machines.
